The aim of this article is to examine the level of awareness among students in higher educational institutions regarding the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)- innovative teaching method, as well as to explore the range of activities related to STEM being conducted within universities. In today’s world, there exists a wide range of modern teaching methods, among which the STEM method stands out. Based on foreign experiences, it is recognized as an integrative approach across scientific disciplines, aimed at providing students with a profound understanding of Natural Science concepts. Robotics, one of the narratives of the STEM, has seen widespread adoption in schools, but has only recently begun to be incorporated into higher education institutions. Currently, the Y. Altynsarin National Academy of Education has introduced methodological guidelines for the implementation of the STEM approach, and efforts to establish STEM-focused classrooms and numerous laboratories within schools and universities are being coordinated by the ministry.

On this foundation, an array of specialized facilities, including 3D modeling studios, robotics workshops, center, and laboratories, have been established in both schools and tertiary institutions, integrating into the educational framework. Furthermore, under the auspices of Chevron, the educational entity “Caravan of Knowledge” has embarked on the development of the methodological guides within the ambit of the “STEM Education Development Roadmap for 2021-2025”. This initiative has led to the organization of STEAM-focused video lessons, thematic STEM fortnights and scholarly conferences. The undertaken research has been pivotal in assessing the preparedness levels for implementing education via STEM methodology, while also evaluating its significance.
Smagulova А.Е.Kalieva А.N.

https://bulletin-pedagogical.ablaikhan.kz/index.php/j1/article/view/1607

This article explores one of the key initiatives aimed at preventing natural disasters that have emerged in recent years due to global climate change — the implementation of educational activities based on the achievements of environmentally safe “Green Technology.” The establishment of small-scale farming facilities on school-based educational and practical platforms (flower beds, greenhouses, organic waste processing, Microgreen and vermicomposting technologies, planting seedlings, production of biohumus) serves as a foundation for developing financial literacy among the younger generation from an early age.

The main objective of the research is to identify the specific features of educational work in general education institutions, aimed at engaging children in mastering the art of financial literacy in the context of global digital transformation and artificial intelligence, based on pre-planned programs and advanced developments in the educational system. This is viewed as a pathway toward the rational use of natural and land resources, starting from the school level.

As part of the implementation of both state and author-developed programs for organizing educational work in the country, modern schoolchildren are actively applying their knowledge in natural sciences and other subjects in the context of educational and extracurricular activities, in the work of children's and youth public organizations, student self-governance and leadership groups, inclusive education resources, and in collaboration with parent associations, entrepreneurial communities, financial and investment institutions, as well as educational and practical platforms associated with schools. Creating opportunities for additional education in the area of financial literacy becomes a vital aspect of this topic.

Thus, systematic planning of educational activities involving students in the protection and preservation of the environment becomes a pedagogical solution for achieving the goal of enhancing their financial literacy.
Kursabayev М.К. 2025-06-272025-06-2777210.48371/PEDS.2025.77.2.022 TEACHING INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS IN THE AGE OF AI- THE WESTERN BIAS EMBEDDED IN CHATGPT
https://bulletin-pedagogical.ablaikhan.kz/index.php/j1/article/view/1987

This article critically examines the pedagogical implications of integrating generative artificial intelligence (AI), particularly ChatGPT, into the teaching of International Relations (IR) at the university level. While ChatGPT offers clear benefits in terms of accessibility, speed, and assistance with research and brainstorming, it is far from a neutral educational tool. The AI’s training on predominantly English-language, Western-published data, including sources from U.S. academia, media, and think tanks, reproduces a Western liberal worldview that frames international politics through selective narratives and ideological assumptions. This includes favoring Western institutions and actors (e.g., NATO, the United States, and their allies) as legitimate and lawful, while portraying non-Western states (e.g., Russia, China, Iran) as aggressive or revisionist.

The article argues that using ChatGPT without critical reflection risks reproducing unbalanced worldviews and reinforcing existing power hierarchies in the classroom. It examines how ChatGPT reflects Western epistemological foundations, including realist and liberal international relations (IR) paradigms, and illustrates narrative biases through comparative case studies (e.g., Iraq 2003 vs. Crimea 2014, Kosovo vs. Donbas, Gaza vs. Ukraine). The piece emphasizes the importance of developing AI literacy among students, teaching them to recognize the limitations and ideological biases of AI-generated content.

Finally, the article proposes practical steps for educators: supplementing AI use with diverse, non-Western sources; using AI tools for critical comparison rather than as authoritative voices; and advocating for greater transparency in AI development and data governance. These approaches aim to foster more critical, pluralistic, and reflective IR education in the age of AI.
Uzakbayev N.Movkebayeva G.

https://bulletin-pedagogical.ablaikhan.kz/index.php/j1/article/view/1753

Issues of teaching a second foreign language remain relevant for researchers from two sides: developing the theory-based foundations of teaching and from the practice of teaching it. Despite the leading position of the English language in our society, interest in the German language still does not wane, which explains the shift in the focus of attention of teachers in many universities towards German language to be taught as a second language.

The article highlights the linguodidactic issues in teaching German as a second language after English. The main research method was comparative analysis. A review of scientific studies on the research topic demonstrated that this contrastive approach is the most effective in teaching the second language. Applying the German language as a second language and the English language as a first, based on teaching practice, both the positive influence of one language on the second and the resulting interference are demonstrated.

Contrastive linguistics helps to identify and describe differences in languages that contribute to better acquisition of a second foreign language and explain cases of inconsistency in grammatical and conceptual systems. The strategy for presenting language material and the influence of the positive experience accumulated by students when mastering their first foreign language are demonstrated.
Aubakirova А.К. https://bulletin-pedagogical.ablaikhan.kz/index.php/j1/article/view/1819

This article addresses the pressing issue of professional development for English language teachers in Kazakhstan, which is of particular significance in the context of globalization and the growing role of English as a language of international communication. One of the key challenges for educators is mastering modern teaching methodologies and effectively applying them in educational practice.

The study focuses on analyzing international certification programs such as TKT, CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, and TEFL, and their adaptation to the Kazakhstani educational context, considering local characteristics and challenges. Among the main issues identified in the research are limited access to quality resources due to the high cost of programs and insufficient infrastructure for their implementation. Many of these programs emphasize theoretical preparation, creating a gap between theory and practice.

In a context where there is a shortage of quality teaching materials and inadequate institutional support, teachers face challenges in integrating new methodologies into their practice. Additionally, the lack of flexibility in existing programs makes it difficult for educators to balance professional development with their teaching duties.

Based on the data analysis, a national professional development program concept has been proposed, incorporating a modular approach and the introduction of micro-qualifications such as Teacher’s Assistant (TA) and Research Assistant (RA). These elements are aimed at strengthening teachers' professional competencies, fostering confidence in applying acquired knowledge, and improving the quality of English language instruction in both urban and rural schools.
Mustafina A.S.Kunanbayeva S.S.Chaklikova A.T.Tutbayeva Zh.A.

https://bulletin-pedagogical.ablaikhan.kz/index.php/j1/article/view/1854

This article presents the development of a comprehensive methodological system aimed at preventing cyberbullying by integrating theoretical insights, psychological understanding, legal frameworks, and pedagogical strategies. The theoretical section synthesizes diverse scholarly definitions of cyberbullying and identifies its core manifestations: anonymous harassment, extortion, trolling, data distortion, exploitation of online gaming environments, and the constant accessibility of victims. It emphasizes that victims suffer both short-term effects (stress, anxiety, sleep disturbances) and long-term consequences (depression, reduced self-esteem, academic decline) across psychological and physical dimensions. The empirical study surveyed 312 students aged 11–17 and their parents across five schools in Almaty using Google Forms. Results indicated that 61.9% of parents are well-informed about cyberbullying, while 60.9% regard it as a critical issue warranting special preventive measures. Moreover, over 78% of respondents stressed the need for psychological support for victims, and 72% advocated for implementing school-based prevention programs. Based on these findings, a six-stage prevention model was proposed: (1) digital literacy workshops, (2) psychological seminars and peer support groups, (3) legal education clarifying relevant laws and accountability, (4) technical monitoring through the “SafeNet” mobile application, (5) media outreach campaigns via social and school networks, and (6) interagency collaboration among schools, families, and social services. Pilot implementation demonstrated a 34% reduction in reported cyberbullying incidents. Overall, the methodological system combines psychological support, pedagogical interventions, legal guidance, and technological tools to effectively safeguard adolescents in digital spaces. Future research should assess its long-term impact across different regions and refine the program accordingly.
Berkimbayev K. M.Boranbayeva A. R.Bekbolat M. S.Berdi D. K.
