Abstract

One of the priorities of the state policy of the modern education system is to preserve and strengthen the health of adolescents, their psychological and physical development, as well as to ensure their safety. New educational standards provide for various conditions aimed at preserving and strengthening the health of students, providing them with all the needs for harmonious development. The article presents a study of the phenomenon of psychological well-being and its scientific and theoretical foundations substantiating the problem of psychological health. Psychological well-being is characterized by such components as autonomy, competence in interpersonal relationships, personal growth, a sense of the meaning of life, confidence and security, a positive lifestyle, emotional comfort, adaptation to the social environment. The concept of "well-being" was adopted by the World Health Organization as a basis for defining health. Health is defined not only as the absence of disease or physical ailments, but also as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. As a result, there is a tendency to substitute the concepts of "mental health" and "psychological health". Therefore, it should be noted that mental processes and mechanisms are involved, and psychological health is associated with personality development. Mental health criteria: emotional stability (self-control), maturation of feelings according to age, struggle with negativity, free, natural expression of feelings and emotions; It is expressed in the ability to joy and stability of well-being. Subjective and objective research methods are defined, emphasizing the importance of psychological well-being in the process of professional activity and training, pedagogical conditions. N. Bradburn was one of the first to introduce the concept of "psychological well-being". The author defines it as a subjective feeling of happiness and general satisfaction with life. In the researcher's model, psychological well-being is a balance between constant interactions with positive and negative affect. In the scientific community, there are studies proving the influence of a number of factors on the formation of psychological well-being. The first group of factors includes social groups, which include a person (family, relatives, immediate environment), among which the central place is occupied by the content of the relationship between children and parents. The second group of factors is age, psychological and individual-typological characteristics of a person.
