Abstract

The current stage of society's development imposes fundamentally new requirements on the direction of training future special educators. Therefore, the state annually increases the amount of state grants allocated for the training of special specialists. This indicates an increased demand for the training of future special educators in universities. This is due to changing trends in special education, an update in approaches to specialist training, and a change in the number of children with disabilities. According to the National Scientific and Practical Center for the Development of Special and Inclusive Education, the number of people with special educational needs (multiple disabilities) has increased dramatically in our country over the past three years. Consequently, training personnel to work with children with complex developmental disabilities is one of the most important tasks of training future special educators.

The main focus of our research is to identify trends and approaches to the training of future special educators based on the analysis of foreign and domestic experience in the training of future special educators in universities.

In order to study the preparation for working with children with complex developmental disabilities, the educational programs of universities in the specialty "Special Pedagogy" were studied, and the foreign experience of training special educators was studied. The strategy of preparing future special educators to work with children with complex disabilities is considered. The educational programs analyze the content of disciplines that are aimed at developing competencies for working with children with complex disabilities. Within the framework of the research topic, surveys of special educators using the Leikart method were conducted and the results were presented.
