TRAINING OF PROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL THROUGH STEM+ EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES: FEATURES AND PROBLEMS

Abstract

STEM education is an educational approach aimed at combining disciplines and widely used in developed countries of the world in the context of the rapid development of economic and social processes. In terms of high-quality training of qualified personnel for an innovative economy, the study of STEM+ educational technologies is a key component of the development strategy aimed at technological sovereignty.

The purpose of the study showed that the features of the use of STEM+ technologies in educational organizations implementing educational programs were analyzed on the basis of empirical data. The research methodology is based on conducting a survey among students and using an electronic form for collecting information. The obtained data was processed by rating analysis, systematization and sorting methods. The study involved one educational organization out of 58 subjects of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In the article, the results showed the main features in the process of implementing STEM+ technologies. In the conditions of Kazakhstan, the main obstacles are the problems of financing education (more than 53% of participants), insufficient modern equipment and software (54.6%), low professional training of teachers (more than 75%). At the same time, the lack of professional reflection on the need to use STEM+ technologies for the intensive development of the educational process was revealed.

The results of the study show that the main role in the implementation of  STEM+ technologies in universities belongs to the factors of preparing teaching staff for the use of modern technologies. These results prove the importance of STEM+ in the scientific study of the conditions, problems and prospects for the development of education for the training of qualified personnel in professional educational institutions.
