Abstract

Generation Alpha, having grown up in the context of pervasive digitalization, has attracted considerable attention from researchers seeking to conceptualize pedagogical approaches aligned with the new cognitive, social, and behavioral characteristics of this generation. This article presents a systematic literature review aimed at identifying scholarly studies related to the education and professional training of Generation Alpha. The purpose of this review is to provide a systematic account of the current state and main directions of pedagogical research devoted to the education and preparation of Generation Alpha within school and higher education systems. The study was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA methodology, which ensured the systematicity and transparency of the analysis. The search process identified 591 studies published in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science between 2018 and 2025. After applying the inclusion, exclusion, and quality assessment criteria, 28 publications were selected for content analysis. The systematic review made it possible to identify the predominant thematic directions in research on the education of Generation Alpha. The analysis indicates that pedagogical research on the education of Generation Alpha is currently at an active stage of development. Despite the diversity of educational strategies presented in the selected studies, the topic remains insufficiently developed from an empirical perspective. The review highlights the need for further refinement of theoretical approaches and for expanding interdisciplinary analysis in order to achieve a deeper understanding of the educational needs of Generation Alpha. The conducted review contributes to a better understanding of trends in the development of pedagogical science and to identifying promising directions for future research.
