The article discusses the issues of modernizing professional foreign language education at a university to prepare a foreign language teacher for economic classes. The purpose of the article is to consider the issues of training a foreign language teacher, considering the updating of the educational program based on metalinguistic training in economics classes. The scientific and practical significance of the work is substantiated, which consists in revealing the scientific and methodological foundations for the formation of meta-subject foreign language competence of the future foreign language teacher, which allows them to effectively realize their pedagogical potential in teaching a foreign language in economic classes.
The methodology of the modern educational paradigm is revealed, considering the directions of training a foreign language teacher for economic classes, which is dictated by the need for a professional definition of meta-competency education as a qualitatively modern pedagogical theory, providing a new meta-subject and sectoral level of foreign language education.
