As part of the implementation of the policy of trilingual education in Kazakhstani universities, teachers of natural science are being trained who are able to teach subjects of physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science in English. This article is devoted to the study of the development of foreign language communicative competence among future teachers of this field of training based on the use of digital technologies. The relevance of the research topic is due to the need to develop communicative abilities as the leading principle of the development of student's speech activity. With the development of digitalization of the educational process, the question arose about the possibility of implementing a program for the development of communicative competence outside the classroom, through online technologies. To study this issue, a pedagogical survey was conducted among professional teachers of a foreign language (English, German) of the English Department of the O. Zhanibekov South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University and teachers of English at the Skyeng online school. The survey results provided intermediate results, confirming the possibility of developing foreign language communicative competence without immersion in a foreign language environment while automating the online learning process. Here, the control of the process of developing certain competencies depends on the student's self-organization and the developed effective methodology for teaching a foreign language. Also, the majority of respondents confirmed that for non-linguistic students, it is important to regularly perform exercises to develop speech, language skills, and other components (competencies) of foreign language communicative competence (socio-cultural, compensatory, educational, and cognitive competence). The results of the survey are presented in the form of diagrams (Google Forms) with a percentage of respondents' opinions on seven topical issues of the development of foreign language communicative competence in the digitalization of the learning process and its automation.
