COMPREHENSIVE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL SUPPORT FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN TEACHING TO READ

The study provided an aspects’ overview of the problem of
teaching children to read. The difficulties encountered by students in the process
of learning to read, as well as the difficulties of teachers, which are associated,
according to the change of authors, with the insufficient level of knowledge of
primary school teachers on the formation of reading literacy, are revealed.
The purpose of the article is to determine the algorithm for the complex
interaction of participants in the pedagogical process to effectively master the
process of reading in elementary school.
The authors analyze foreign and domestic psychological and pedagogical
sources on the problem of forming reading literacy, mastering such skills as
consciousness, fluency, expressiveness, correctness; presents the results of
their own research conducted among schoolchildren, teachers, parents, speech
therapists, psychologists. Used such diagnostic methods as a survey, observation,
questioning based on mathematical processing. The groups of students potentially
predisposed to the occurrence of violations of reading skills and the direction of
preventive work to prevent them were identified.
An algorithm for the comprehensive support of students in teaching the
reading process has been developed, based on a systematic, integrated and studentcentered approach, based on general pedagogical principles and the principles of
linguistics, the main condition for the implementation of comprehensive support
for students in the formation of reading literacy has been determined – the
interaction of participants in the pedagogical process, using various forms work
(discussion of monitoring the diagnosing reading skills’ results, joint preparation
of individual programs for students, a school for parents, a flash mob, coworking,
online consultations, creating pages on social networks). Suggested guidelines
for teachers, parents of primary school students.The results of the study can be used in the work of preschool teachers, primary
school teachers, special teachers, psychologists, as well as in the preparation of
university students in the direction of Pedagogical Sciences: 011 – Pedagogy and
Psychology, 012 – Pedagogy of preschool education and training, 013 – Training
of teachers without subject specialization, 019 – Special Pedagogy.
