Abstract

The article analyzes the problem of adolescent aggression and methods of its correction through fairy tale therapy. The aggressiveness of adolescents is an age-related feature, the causes of which may be biological, social, and psychological factors. High personal aggressiveness is associated with qualities such as activity, leadership skills, and the ability to protect oneself and one's loved ones. If aggressiveness is poorly controlled, it leads to the development of conflicts with others and negatively affects the quality of life of a teenager. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the use of fairy tale therapy methods in the correction of aggression in adolescents. The hypothesis of the study is the assumption that if fairy tale therapy methods are used with adolescents with a high level of aggression, their level of aggression will decrease. A formative experiment was conducted to test the experimental hypothesis. The classic Bass-Darkey test was chosen as the diagnostic method to identify the level of aggressiveness. Author's parables were compiled for each teenager, the content of which was determined during the initial diagnostic conversation with the teenager and his parents individually. The parables were necessarily interactive and unique, which allowed every teenager to feel a sense of belonging to the situation of the narrative plot. After completing the correctional and developmental work, a questionnaire was conducted with the participants in order to determine their general well-being and attitude to the events held. The results obtained allowed us to conclude that fairy tale therapy is an effective method of correcting aggression in adolescents. The analysis of the characters and plots of fairy tales serves as an analogy for expressing and understanding the emotional states of a teenager, including those that may be associated with aggression. Fairy tales also contribute to the development of empathy and awareness of the consequences of their actions. Analyzing the behavior of characters and reactions to their actions can help to understand the possible consequences for a teenager. The process of writing or telling your own fairy tale provides a safe space for expressing emotions and stimulates the beginning of the process of self-understanding.
