The article discusses the importance of the formation of students' communicative competence based on authentic texts. The actual problem of the article is connected with the need to choose effective methods of forming communicative competence in teaching a foreign language. In this context, the article, the role of the concept of authentic materials in methodology, gives an idea of competence in connection with the modern definition of the goals of teaching a foreign language. From the point of view of communicative competence, the analysis of the research of domestic and foreign scientists is carried out. In this regard, the purpose of the article is to consider the effectiveness of using authentic texts, the importance of organizing the educational process. In this article, the principles of the formation of communicative competence are considered, the concept of "authentic texts" is defined, the classification of authentic texts is given, aspects of authentic textual use are shown and the stages of the organization of reading for each type of text are disclosed. The use of authentic texts in teaching a foreign language opens up wide opportunities for teachers and students to master the language and culture of this country. In this regard, for the development of students' communicative competence through the use of authentic texts, taking into account the importance of the fact that students have formed foreign language skills and possess medium, high levels. the article is devoted to the methodology of using authentic texts in the development of foreign language communicative competence of students, including speaking, listening, reading, writing skills.
In the practical value of the article, a survey was conducted on the development of students' communicative competence through authentic texts. The purpose of the survey was to consider the importance of using authentic texts in the process of developing students' communicative competence. As a result of the survey, it was proved that the use of authentic texts for the development of students' communicative competence has a positive effect in the educational process.
