Abstract

This article explores the main factors influencing the mastery of chemistry in the process of preparing future chemistry teachers. The study examined three key factors affecting students' mastery of chemistry: teaching methods, student activity, and the quality of educational and methodological materials. The study analyzed the opinions of students and faculty from the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University for Girls using surveys, interviews, and discussions. The research found that the teaching methods and presentation techniques used by instructors, the assignments, assessment, and feedback contribute to increasing students' interest in chemistry and stimulating their independent learning. In particular, it was revealed that the combination of situational learning, interactive methods (group and pair work, discussions), and innovative methods (virtual laboratories, artificial intelligence, online platforms) enhances the quality of education. Moreover, students' independent learning and their active participation in the learning process influence their academic achievements. The quality and accessibility of educational and methodological materials also play a crucial role. Syllabi, supplementary materials, and the quality of educational portals facilitate student learning and allow for the effective organization of the independent learning process. The study provides recommendations on using teaching methods, creating a comfortable environment for students, and applying virtual laboratories. The results and recommendations of the study contribute to the effective use of educational and methodological materials and the improvement of pedagogical processes in the training of future chemistry teachers.
