INTERACTIVE-IMMERSIVE APPROACH IN THE FORMATION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFESSIONAL-ORIENTED COMPETENCE OF TECHNICAL PROFILE STUDENTS

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of an interactive-immersive approach to the development of foreign language professional-oriented competence in students of technical fields. A concept for implementing the interactive-immersive approach is proposed, including principles for forming foreign language professional-oriented competence and principles for selecting digital educational content to optimize the educational process in a rapidly changing digital world. The research substantiates the content of professionally-oriented modules for the foreign language professional-oriented competence of students in technical specialties and develops an innovative methodology that integrates artificial intelligence, virtual simulations, game-based and case simulations, as well as interactive applications and multimedia tools into the educational process. Such integration enhances student engagement in the learning process and improves language training in professional activities.

The study involved 186 students in technical fields (94 in the control group and 92 in the experimental group). The experiment was conducted at the Kazakh-British Technical University.

The methodological research included three key stages: diagnostic, formative, and control. As a result of the experiment, it was established that the use of interactive and immersive technologies significantly increases student engagement in the learning process and improves their language preparation, as confirmed by high results of the students in the formation of their foreign language professional-oriented competence. The challenges identified, related to the need for adaptation to new forms of learning and self-organization, indicate that further development and implementation of such teaching methods are critically important.

Based on the conducted analysis and the results of the experiment, we conclude that it is necessary to integrate interactive and immersive technologies into the educational process to improve the quality of training specialists and adapt them to the demands of the modern labor market. The integration of the interactive-immersive approach in education is not merely an innovation but represents an important step toward preparing competent specialists who are ready for the challenges of a globalized world.
