The article highlights the problem of professional and applied physical training of university students. Professionally applied physical training (PPFP) is considered as one of the key directions in the modern system of physical education. Her task is the formation of applied knowledge, the development of physical and special qualities, as well as the formation of skills and abilities necessary for successful professional activity. The purpose of the study is to identify the features and nature of professionally applied physical training of students of pedagogical universities — future teachers of physical education.
In the course of the study, a ascertaining experiment was conducted aimed at determining the general level of professional and applied physical fitness of students. The experiment was conducted with the participation of first-year students from Satpayev University (Almaty), part of the E. Turkebayev Institute of Project Management.
Despite the regular improvement of the system of physical education organization in higher educational institutions, this area remains not fully developed. As a subsystem of physical education, PPFP is able to effectively contribute to the development of physically and professionally significant personal qualities of future teachers. This is possible due to the optimal use of various means of physical culture and sports, including both theoretical and practical aspects.
