Abstract. The article shows the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, also, modeling of educational and cognitive activity. AI technology has not been sufficiently studied in modern theories, especially in the context of the relationship between knowledge and information transfer. The relevance of AI research in education is due to its rapid development and potential for improving the quality of education. AI can personalize the educational process, adapting materials to the level and needs of each student. Automation of routine tasks (checking work, analyzing academic performance) reduces the workload of teachers, allowing them to focus on creative and methodological aspects. In addition, AI contributes to the development of new forms of education, like virtual assistants, adaptive platforms and simulators. The introduction of these technologies develop critical thinking, digital literacy and skills in working with innovative systems in students. In the modern conditions of digital transformation, research into the capabilities of AI is becoming necessary for creating effective educational strategies and training specialists of the future. The purpose of the study is to analyze modeling as a method of indirect cognition of the capabilities of neural networks, which, simulating the work of the human brain, are used for pattern recognition and data learning. For achieving goal, theoretical analysis, classification, generalization and collection of empirical data from a sociological survey were used. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of reducing the functional workload of a teacher by delegating a number of tasks to AI: planning lessons, creating didactic and control and measuring materials, checking and assessing work. The article presents the possibilities of some types of AI, as well as a model for integrating AI into the educational process. Mastering AI can become an important area of professional development of a teacher in a digital educational environment and tool of an individual learning path.
