The formation of the research competence of future teachers of philology plays a key role in the development of their critical thinking, analytical and interpretative skills. The question of the importance of research competence in teacher education has been reflected in numerous studies by scientists from both Kazakhstan and abroad. The article examines the use of Kazakh texts as a tool for understanding linguistic, cultural and social processes, as well as the formation of national identity in a global context. The transmedial and interdisciplinary analysis of Kazakhstani texts expands the research horizons of students, involving them in an academic discussion about national culture. The survey of philology students revealed the importance of analyzing Kazakhstani texts for the development of research competence, but also identified key barriers: the difficulty of finding sources, lack of methodological recommendations and language difficulties. As part of the research, an elective course "The Image of Kazakhstan in world literature" was developed, aimed at an in-depth analysis of the Kazakh text. The "Kazakh text" is a complex system of multilevel narratives, from historical and documentary chronicles to artistic and figurative structures. In the process of working with such texts, future philologists master the mechanisms of recognizing symbolic codes, analyzing cultural contexts, and establishing links between literary works and real historical events. The results confirm the need for further integration of the Kazakh text into philological education through modern methods of analysis and research practices. Working with Kazakh texts contributes to the development of scientific research, academic writing and intercultural hermeneutics. The article highlights the importance of the imagological approach in the study of the national text and its role in the modernization of educational approaches.
