The article is aimed at studying the features of the project method in the educational process. The article reveals the principles of the project method, its main stages and features.
The project method assumes the solution of a certain task by determining its final structure on the basis of educational and methodological knowledge. The project method is effective when some kind of research, creative task is set in the educational process, because to solve it it is necessary to use integrated knowledge from various fields, as well as research methods.
This result can be seen, understood, and applied in real practice. To achieve such a result, it is necessary to teach students to think independently, find and solve problems, for this purpose, knowledge in various fields is needed, the ability to predict the results and possible consequences of various decisions, to establish cause-and-effect relationships.
The work on the project method requires the teacher to have pedagogical skills in designing the teaching content, and the teacher must possess pedagogical, professional and research competencies. For pedagogical design, the teacher needs to know the personal characteristics of students. This knowledge is provided by a block of psychological and pedagogical disciplines. The role of the teacher is significant and different at each stage of project preparation. The role of the teacher is especially significant at the preparatory stage. At the planning stage, as well as at the project execution stage, the teacher acts as. consultant, motivator; assistant. Teacher must think through, work out the entire project, prescribe clearly, educational tasks; pick up the necessary; material, must be ready to help without offering; ready-made solutions; plan the entire series of classes.
