LANGUAGE LEARNING USING THE E-LEARNING SYSTEM WITH AUTHENTIC MATERIALS

Abstract

With the development of technology and the introduction of pandemic-related measures, there have been significant changes in education in Kazakhstan, such as distance learning. At the same time, great attention has been paid to virtual classrooms as spaces in which students and teachers can interact at the same level as if learning were taking place directly in the classroom. The aim of this study is to systematise the evidence on the use of authentic E-learning material in linguistic classes. Based on relevant scientific sources, a detailed analysis of such experiences was made and several theoretical concepts have been described: one related to distance learning (characteristics, advantages and problems of E-learning) and the other describing and classifying authentic materials and their use in language learning in conditions of distance learning. The material presented in the article plays an important role in language acquisition as it contributes to the development of linguistic, socio-cultural and grammatical skills. Based on the data of the analysed studies on the use of authentic material in E-learning virtual classes, the authors identified the advantages and disadvantages of this learning system. Based on the findings, the authors concluded that the use of virtual classes and authentic material in language learning is an integral part of successful learning, and for this reason language teachers are recommended to use them in accordance with local realities and individual needs of students.
