The article reveals the essence of the idea of nationality in the pedagogical system of Ibray Altynsarin, examines the educational possibilities of oral and folk art (fairy tales, stories, proverbs and sayings, etc.) included in the content of the textbook "Kyrgyz Anthology", as well as the meaning and possibilities of the textbook "Shari'atyl Islam" in the spiritual and moral education of children and youth.
