This article analyzes the language policy of schools in Kazakhstan and the development of German as a school subject in the country. The authors substantiate the need for the development of the German language in the school system of the Republic. The importance of the German language in the formation of a multilingual personality is emphasized. The presence of great interest in learning German among teenagers and young people of Kazakhstan today requires a wider introduction of the German language into schools and higher educational institutions of the country. The new standard educational program for academic disciplines gives educational institutions the right to choose a foreign language. To date, it is necessary to maintain the status of German as the second most studied language in Kazakhstan. The potential for the restoration of the German language in our country is still preserved. Work in this direction should go everywhere. Not only educational institutions but also all interested persons should take part in it. Specialists of the German language and linguodidacts of our country have developed educational complexes on the German language. The authors proposed additions to the content of the subject «German language» at the initial stage of school education, using the example of the analysis of the German language training complex for the 4th grade of secondary schools, published in the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the German publishing house «Klett». This educational complex was published in 2021 and meets all the requirements for the structure and content of textbooks in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
