In modern education, there are many supporters of online learning, but very often we encounter problems caused by cognitive distortions that are present in our daily activities, which leads to denial and preconceived notions about this type of learning. The article presents an analysis of the main types of cognitive distortions that occur in those who are engaged in online learning. Ways to eliminate them are considered, it is shown that for the maximum benefit of online distance learning, it is necessary to train mental memory, write down the main points of the lecture and thereby improve the process of memorizing information. Studies show that students who did this regularly performed better on quizzes compared to those who did not use the technique. Knowledge of these cognitive distortions allows not only to overcome, but also to raise the effectiveness of online distance learning to a higher level.
