The concept of "competence-based approach" became widespread in the early 21st century in connection with the discussion of problems and ways to modernize Kazakhstan's education. This means that the competence approach in our country is replacing the knowledgeable, which, in turn, leads to the creation of new teaching methods and new methods of testing the effectiveness of training. In this article, I tried to formulate a generalized image of the most significant elements of the competence approach in Soviet pedagogy.
