THE IMPORTANCE OF DIGITAL COMPETENCE IN TEACHER ACTIVITIES

The article is devoted to the issue of improving the quality of life of the population of Kazakhstan through the use of digital technologies in the context of the transition of the country’s economy to a new development trajectory, which in the long term will ensure the creation of a digital economy, the transition of education to distance learning and online training in connection with the COVID – 19 pandemic. Particular emphasis is placed on issues related to the acquisition of new digital competencies, which become mandatory and necessary for teachers in the training of a future qualified specialist.
The article reveals the basic concepts of the topic, including the need for teachers to quickly master the emerging digital technologies associated with today's living conditions, as well as expanding their competencies to work in new conditions.Particular attention is paid to the levels of research of the concepts of "competence", "digital competence", "computer literacy and digital competence of teachers."
In addition, there are presented groups of competencies necessary for a teacher to successfully implement educational activities, and an overview of the concepts of digital competencies in different countries, national models of foreign competencies.
At the end of the article, the experience of the Bolashak Academy is presented in the formation and development of digital competencies of teachers who are used in the training of future young specialists in accordance with modern requirements.
