The research topic is relevant and promising because constant innovations in digital technologies stimulate the introduction of new methods and strategies for teaching English. The introduction of artificial intelligence, adaptive learning systems, and big data analysis opens new opportunities for personalizing and improving the educational process in higher education. This article discusses problem-based, case-based, and team-based learning methods that engage learners in exploratory, imitative, evaluative, creative, and communicative activities. This paper aims to explore the existing active learning methods and identify their role in English language teaching through digital platforms and tools. To achieve this aim, a literature review on the problem under study has been conducted and practical material for conducting classes using digital tools (Mentimeter, YouTube, Ted-Ed, Microsoft Power BI, ChatGPT, YouTube, Quizlet) is presented. Each of the digital tools is used to organize and conduct classes, plan joint activities of the teacher and students, provide feedback, and create a digital educational environment. Based on the results of the theoretical and practical analysis, the role of digital technologies and the effectiveness of active learning methods in English language teaching were determined.
