Тhe article defines the content of the concept of ethnocultural competence, substantiates the pedagogical conditions for the formation of ethnocultural competence of senior schoolchildren on the basis of the technology of educational situations in extracurricular activities that provide positive qualitative changes in the personality.
By ethnocultural competences, the authors understand the property of a person, expressed in the presence of a set of objective ideas and knowledge about a particular culture, which is realized through the skills, habits and behaviors that contribute to effective interethnic understanding and interaction.
The formation of the ethnocultural competence of high school students by means of the technology of educational situations is determined by its specificity: the introduction of pupils into life problem situations, the resolution of which contributes to the acceptance of cultural values and norms, the development of cultural behavior skills based on the moral comprehension of these situations, the possibility of expanding the socio-cultural space, providing the personal significance of the acquired cultural experience schoolboy.
